Polygonum griffithii
Perennial herb. Fat rhizome, 20 to 40cm
tall; leathery leaf, elliptic, 10 to 15 cm
long, 3¡«5 cm broad, spiciform
raceme, laxly nutant, deep pink flower.
Flowering: aug to Sept. Cold hygrophiles,
a bit tolerance to poorness. Southeast
Tibet, 4000 to 5000 m, grassy slopes,
between stones. Yunnan, Bhutan, northeast
India. One of few ornamental species in
Polygonaceae; as well as P. polystachyum
rrom Tibet, which is also essential
plant.
