The Wild Flowers of
Semiarid to Semimoist Valley Region
At the middle and lower
reaches of Yaluzangbu, the transitional
positions between semiarid zone and
semihumid zone, the elevation of 28 to
3300m, there are scrubs, woodlands,
mesophilous coniferous forests and
deciduous broadleaved forests. The elegant
Tibetan-endemic flowers such as Paeonia
ludlowii and Iris latistyla are
distributed from forests to valley
terraces, with the tolerance to drought
and the tendency to warm. Besides these
two, is the list of other major species:
Clematis gracilifolia, white flowered;
Arisaema flavum, yellow; Cynoglossum
amabile, blue; Hypericum hookerianum,
yellow; Cotoneaster microphyllus, white
flowered and red fruited; Codonopsis
convolvulacea, bluish purple; Desmodiunm
elegans, reddish purple; Ceratostigma
minus, blue; Spiraea canescens, white; and
many species of Rosa.
