The Wild Flowers of
Semiarid plateau & Alpine Region
From central to west and
north Tibet, at the elevation of
3500¡«5200m, there are semiarid
high mountains or highlands which lack
vegetation and growing seasons but are
decked with some pretty, deeply-coloured
flowers. They may have small vegetable
bodies vs big flower organs; both are
showing the vitality and adaptability.
The major species of this region:
Incarvillea younghusbandil, red flowered;
I lutea, yellow; Iris potaninii, yellow;
Jasminum stephanense, light red; J.
officinale, white; Arenaria rhodantha,
red; A. forrestii, white; Androseace
tapete, pink; Clematis tenuifolia, orange.
