Donation to ShaanXi Province October 1998
First, we sent professionals to the remote villages to select the disabled children as the candidates to receive the hearing aid donations.
Then, we had the local Audiologists to examine and test the hearing loss of the disabled child so as to prescribe the right hearing aid device.
The local technician will make the ear mould for the disabled child as shown in the above photo.
With the fitting of the correct hearing aid device, the disabled children went through an elaborate training of Speech Therapy.
This kind of training not only went on when the child was in school with the professionals, but also went on when the child was at home. So, the parents of the disabled child were also being trained and provided help to the child while at home.
For the first time in life, the child spoke to her mother : "Mom, I love you ! ". This was a very emotional moment for anybody involved.
Eventually the child graduated from the disabled children school and joined a regular public school. The child is now leading a normal life, like most of other children.
