2.5 Daoyin exercise combines modern medical theories and adopts their good points. That's the whole reason of effective results. It can be seen that the various sets of Daoyin exercise are divided on the basis of western medicine. For example, Shuxinpingxuegong for the diseases like high and low blood pressure, heart disease, excessive heart rate and other diseases of the heart system, Yiqiyangfeigong for cold, fever, bronchitis and other respiratory diseases, and Heweijianpigong for ulcer, constipation, piles and other digestive diseases. Physiologists divide the human body into eight systems. Daoyin Exercise has many sets of movements corresponds to each system. This makes the patients, as well as the teachers, save more time and achieve better results by practising the specific set they need. Moreover, Daoyin exercise describes the pathology of many diseases on the basis of modem western medicine, biology and anatomy. For example, in Shuxinpingxuegong, when describing the causes of high blood pressure and heart disease, we use "tightness in the nerve, spasm of small artery, malfunction of the coagulation of the blood and piling up of cholesterol," In Yiqiyangfeigong, we use "the hyperfunction of the vagus nerve and the convulsion of the bronchus" in describing bronchitis and "lack of strength in the respiratory muscle, lowering of elasticity of the lung walls" in describing pulmonary emphysema. To solve these problems, corresponding treating principles are adopted. Then under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine, lead the move the Qi by movements, by breath, and by the mind. Such a combination of the west with the Chinese, not only confirms to our Party's medical policy, but also help the practisers to practise better. This is also an important reason for achieving effective results.
